Trainer Profile: Alan Mayne (Training Manager)
Alan has many years of experience in Telecoms and IT – gained working for some of the leading telecoms and IT companies including British Telecom, Digital and Ericsson. He has worked in Telecoms Training since 1998 and is now the Training Manager with the Telecoms Academy.
His experience includes several years working as a Senior Support Engineer at Ericsson with responsibility for network roll out for one of the leading UK mobile phone operators.
Alan joined the Telecoms Academy in 2001 and now specialises in developing and delivering training in a range of technology and business programmes. This including Modern Telecoms Networks, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, LTE, IP, Optical Networking, Service and Content Delivery, Digital Broadcasting and OSS/BSS. Alan played in a lead role in developing the Telecoms Mini MBA and was one of the first to be accredited to fulfill the role of Programme Director. As well as directing the programme, he delivers modules on technology, marketing, competitive advantage, regulation, industry direction and the overall business environment. Alan currently has overall responsibility for the Telecoms Mini MBA programme.
As Training Manager for the Informa Telecoms Academy, Alan has responsibility for the recruitment and accreditation of new trainers and currently manages a team of 30+ training professionals. He has run many courses on both a public and in-house basis with excellent feedback received from his delegates and students worldwide. With his enthusiastic teaching style, Alan is able to convey complex concepts to his delegates in a very effective delivery style – whether they are from a technical or non-technical background.
