Live on Web Training Schedule: January – March 2015
This programme explores the main features, capabilities, limitation, and operation of the various VoLTEsolutions / options, highlighting the implication for the customer (and as a consequence for the operators’ competitive position), and the implication for the wider network environment. To complement the training, information is drawn from the Ovum Research Team, highlighting the current state voice deployment with LTE, the various deployment options that are being adopted, and where appropriate indicating best practice as operators provide a seamless transition for their customers.…more
LTE technology is the foundation on which telecoms operators worldwide are transforming their businesses. This programme provides a comprehensive overview of the LTE technology itself, including capabilities, limitations and operation, as well as its role as a key business enabler within the industry. We explore the major features of the radio interface, radio access network (eUTRAN), and Evolved Packet Core (EPC), before focusing on key areas of implementation and deployment – including voice provision, service delivery, Quality of Service, policy and charging, security, interworking, and LTE’s role in multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) network environments. Spectrum usage and radio planning implications, including the move towards small cells and heterogeneous networks are presented. Finally, LTE Advanced is discussed..…more
This programme focuses squarely on small cell deployment and cost effective implementation within a multi-RAT (Radio Access Technology) environment. Small and Femtocell operation and deployment, the use of WiFi as a complementary technology, and the full adoption of the Heterogeneous Network (Het Net) concept are all explored and presented in some detail…more
Covering 3G Technologies and related systems, including the W-CDMA radio interface, HSPA / HSPA + enhancements, IP and IMS, as well as services and applications – this course provides an excellent grounding for those who need to understand the scope, implementation options, business drivers, and strategies that 3G systems support. Content distribution, wireless Voice over IP (wVoIP), and OTT services are also covered…more
Conduct of the Training
The 2 x 1/2 day training sessions are delivered using our Adobe Virtual Classroom platform and scheduled from 2pm UK time (including breaks).
All you need is a suitable computer with sound capabilities, and an internet connection with an acceptable speed of connection that is free from fire-wall restrictions (talk to your IT department if concerned). You can test your connection beforehand, and we will record the sessions in case you experience connections problems or for later viewing / consolidation. Student microphones are not normally enabled (primarily to ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all), but we do strive to make the training as interactive as possible, and both questions and contributions are encouraged. The trainers are available after the programme to field additional questions and to provide support as required. The presentations themselves are downloadable.
